SMU Studio Assignments
The final partner project for a publication design course is a series of spreads on the assigned topic was, the Unhealthiest Cities in America. While the factual content is drawn from articles by Business Insider, Wallet Hub, and Yahoo Finance, all writing is our own.
My 2-spread submission for the SPD 2020 student competition under the "City/Regional" category. The title (" ____ Rules") and subhead of the article were predetermined by SPD, while I wrote the article about food, neighborhoods, and activities. The iron work designs and collage layout of images are used to mimic the architecture and design of the famous Gaudi Architecture within Barcelona.
For this assignment we were given five photographs (at least two had to be in the composition) and the text displayed. Using these elements we had to design a 8.5 x 11 inch composition that applied layouts based on squares, the golden rule, or the rule of thirds.
